She is most famous for having won the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 in Birmingham with the song “Diva”. She is arguably one of the most famous transsexual celebrities in the world. She has released eight albums and three additional compilation albums, positioning herself as one of Israel’s most successful musical acts ever. She recently became one of the judges on Israeli Pop Idol. Dana International represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany, with the self-penned song “Ding Dong”.

Katrina & the Waves – Walking On Sunshine

2010 was the 25th anniversary of the release of “Walking on Sunshine” and a series of back-catalog re-releases and a re-recorded version of the track are being released. A free download of one of the tracks from Kimberley Rew’s solo album ‘Bible of Bop’ was given away in March 2010 from the band’s website.

Christina Aquilera – Dirrty

“Dirrty” is a song performed by American singer Christina Aguilera featuring rapper Reggie “Redman” Noble. The song was written by Aguilera and Redman along with Jasper Cameron, Balewa Muhammad, and Rockwilder for Aguilera’s fourth studio album Stripped (2002). It received mixed reviews from music critics.”Dirrty” was released in September 2002 as the album’s lead single (see 2002 in music). It was unsuccessful in the U.S., only reaching number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100, but was better received elsewhere, cracking the Top 10 of 17 countries and reaching  number 1 in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. “Dirrty” was nominated for “Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals” at the 45th Grammy Awards.

“Bleeding Love” has sold more than 1 million copies in the United Kingdom, and over 4 million digital downloads in the United States, where it was the best selling digital song there in 2008. “Bleeding Love” has sold more than 9 million copies worldwide, putting it in the top five selling songs of the decade. It was named the 17th most successful song in the US from 2000-2009, on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade. The song achieved a similar feat in the United Kingdom where it was the best-selling single of 2007, selling 788,000 copies. “Bleeding Love” has charted within the UK top 100 singles chart in three different years: in 2007 it peaked at number 1 2008 at number 2; and 2009 at number 97. “Bleeding Love” was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 51st Grammy Awards. It remains Lewis’s most successful single to date.

    Martine McCutcheon – Perfect Moment

    In 1999, McCutcheon debuted as a solo pop artist with Virgin Records and scored a number 1 in the UK Singles Chart with the ballad “Perfect Moment” (originally recorded by Edyta Górniak in 1997). The song was a global success reaching number 1 not only in the UK, but in Israel, Italy, Switzerland and Ireland.

    Julie Andrews – Lonely Goatherd

    “The Lonely Goatherd” is a show tune from the musical The Sound of Music that makes use of yodelling.
    The song is a well-known example of yodeling, which is a part of the traditional music of the Austrian Alps, where the musical is set.

    The lyrics are also well-known and widely quoted, especially the opening line, “High on a hill was a lonely goatherd.”
